Dr. Cherrie Laygo is a California Board licensed, NCCAOM Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist as well as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She became interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine through personal experience with her own health and as a natural progression to her long career as a Massage Therapist.
Dr. Cherrie Laygo received her Doctoral degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, Ca. where she was part of the teaching staff in their Masters's program. She also graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine.
Her passion is the promotion of wellness in life and thereby longevity. The definition of Longevity is simply long life, but Dr. Laygo sees this as a challenge in our modern lifestyle. Her goal is to help each of her patients to enhance their physical and emotional health to achieve not just the potential of longevity but the quality of life.
She incorporates Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Electro-Acupuncture, Cupping, Moxibustion, Gua Sha, Medical Massage Therapy, and more in her treatments of patients. She is a general practitioner with a special interest in women’s health, musculoskeletal disorders, pain management, insomnia, anxiety, mental-emotional health, and digestive disorders.
Currently, Dr. Laygo and her family moved back to New York City after almost 6 years in Los Angeles, Ca. She is on the Oriental Medicine teaching staff at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where she teaches the Gynecology course in the Master’s program. Dr. Laygo has also started a practice in the Flat Iron District of NYC in the beautiful space at Longevity Health.
As a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, her objective is to unite the best knowledge of both systems, TCM and Western Biomedicine, focusing on corrective and preventative care to help achieve optimum health and longevity of Life.
